What the game and this site collect, why, and how long I keep it.

This covers Echoes of Color: the game, and this website's downloads, bug reports, ideas, and feedback. Last updated October 14, 2026.

Who I am

Echoes of Color is a solo project by Jasmine (JazzyPetal). I'm the one who reads what you send and decides what happens to it. To reach me about anything on this page, use the feedback form and choose Feedback, which stays private.

The game

The game doesn't phone home. It has no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, and it never sends anything to me unless you send a bug report yourself.

Multiplayer. When you join a game, your computer connects straight to the host you chose, not through me. The host's computer sees your IP address and the display name you picked, and a dedicated server can keep them so its operator can approve or ban players. Party chat only goes to the players in that game. None of this reaches me.

Bug reports from the game. Pause → Report a Bug opens a form, and nothing is sent until you select Send report. It sends what you type, the version, platform, and shape you picked, and any screenshots or logs you attach. You can also tick Include diagnostics. It's off until you tick it, and you can read and edit it before sending. Diagnostics hold technical details: game and Java versions, your operating system, display settings, the current map, recent combat and network events, and recent errors. Players in them are called Player 1, Player 2, and so on, never by name, and file locations are shown relative to the game's folder.

This website

  • No tracking. No analytics, ads, or third-party services. Fonts are served from this site, and there are no cookies for visitors.
  • Download counts. When you download a build, I count it. To count each person once a day, the site stores a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date, which can't be turned back into the address. It's deleted after 24 hours. When you press a download button, the count also notes which page of this site the button was on (for example the Releases page), and nothing else about you.
  • Reports, ideas, and feedback. These store what you type, any files you attach, and the contact details you choose to give (optional). To stop spam, the site keeps the same kind of scrambled code for 24 hours to limit how often one person can send. Your IP address itself isn't stored with what you send.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted by Namecheap. Like any web server, theirs keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, under their own policy.

What I do with reports

I read them to find and fix bugs and to decide what to build next. That's my reason for keeping them: I need them to make the game better, and you chose to send them.

  • Only I can see them. I get an email with the titles of new ones, and I may copy a title into my own task list.
  • If a bug affects other players, I may list it on Known issues, or an idea on Ideas. Only a short title and its status are shown, never your details, contact information, or attachments.
  • I don't sell or share them with anyone.

How long I keep things

  • Reports, ideas, and feedback: until I've dealt with them, then 12 months after I close them. After that they're deleted, along with their attachments. If one is listed publicly, only its public title and status are kept.
  • Scrambled codes for downloads and spam limits: 24 hours.

Your choices

You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete anything you've sent. Send a message through the feedback form with your report number if you have it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before including contact details in a report. Please don't put personal information, like your real name or address, in reports or screenshots.

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
